I grind my teeth at night and am having trouble with my jaws, TMJ they call it.  I get terrible headaches and have gained a tremendous amount of weight.  I don't sleep well if at all.  My appetite is increased and I feel out of control.  I am cranky and forgetful and exhausted.  Need I say more.  Think before you take lexapro.  Is it really worth it???

I have been on Lexapro twice and gained weight both times.  I thought it might just be from having hypothyroidism that I found out I had and started taking medication for that at the same time I started on Lexapro.  I have gained a total of almost 40 pounds and have never been heavy in my life.  I have 4 kids and weigh more than I did when I was nine months pregnant.  I have decided that I would rather taper off the medication than keep gaining weight.  My appetite is huge at weird times in the day, I can't sleep and when I do the baby wakes up screaming.  So much for sleep.  I also have trouble concentrating and with my memory.  I feel like an old lady sometimes.  Anyone who is thinking about taking Lexapro.... Please read about it wherever you can, think about it, the pros and cons and do your research to see if you are better off without something.
