SSRI Stories Page 23 I am so glad I found this website! After another failed attempt at orgasm (I am female) and many other side effects like aching finger joints, weight gain (25 lbs) constant loose bowels, heartburn, feeling like I am outside of my body or "just not right in the head" and other symptoms which I just can't describe with words, I am going to stop taking this drug. I was on Celexa for several years and then my doc switched me to Lexapro. I tried once to get off the Celexa and the brain zaps and electric head were horrible. But, I am determined to get off all SSRI's for good! My sex drive is totally gone and reaching climax is impossible. From what I have read, gradual withdrawal is recommended by most everyone. Everyone's comments give me knowledge and strength, to know that I am not alone with my side effects. I never had these same problems with Celexa, but feel that drug free is the way to go. If anyone has had luck getting off this drug, please tell how you did it!! Last evening I took Lexapro (a sample given to me by my physican for depression). After going through complete knee replacement and a few weeks of pain and anxiety, I saw my doctor and told him of my crying and depression. Well, never again. This morning I felt very nautious (like morning sickness) It continued to get worse and worse and I felt like I have the flu; in fact I even ran a low-grade temperature. As I write this, the symptoms have subsided slightly (spent the day in bed). This is a horrible drug.
