SSRI Stories Page 18 I took lexapro for two weeks. After the second week I experienced jaw pain and feeling as if I had lock jaw. The only relief I get is to lie down and try to relax the jaw. I am a breast cancer survivor who had complications + pain leading to mental breakdown. My friend suggested i try Lexapro because of the low dosage and low side effects. She had no side effects taking 10 mg. at first. i am on 20mg for about a year + 1/2 and i too have gained weight and can't loose it with extensive exercise and increased water intake. In March my friend who told me about it suddenly stopped taking Lexapro and she took her own life! Now i am very slowly cutting my dose in half and then to a quarter i am doing okay so far (some extra depression} but i sure am scared and want to be rid of it asap! I didn't realize that Lexapro has so many side affects. I have a six month old baby and was so happy about losing almost all of the weight after the birth. My doctor put me on Lexapro because I was having a problem with anxiety. I put on 15 pounds that I worked so hard to lose. I'm tired all of the time and can fall asleep anywhere! I break out in hives from head to toe. My head feels like it's in a fog all of the time. I'm beginning to feel that the anxiety was easier to deal with than the side affects of the medication. |
