"About 5 months ago, I took 15 mg daily doses of Paxil for 6 weeks. Then I cut back to taking the doses every 3 days for 2 weeks and then stopped.

I am currently experiencing daily headaches, eye pain, and shooting pains in my temples."

"Depersonalization, feeling as though everything around me is 'happening' but I am not physically part of it (Paxil, 40mg)"

"I was the mother of a beautiful, vivacious child until June 7th of this year.  My 12 year old daughter was on this medication for 8 months and within the first two weeks of being on it, she began to have adverse reactions. Now, that I look back I can see how it slowly took her life.  She was the strongest willed child I've ever known.  She was withdrawing from it for only 10-14 hours the day she quietly went into her bedroom and took her own life by hanging herself.  This was a total shock to the whole community since she was the last child anyone ever expected to do such a thing.  This drug needs to be completely taken off the market or the potential of suicidal ideation or violent behavior needs to be listed as one of the top adverse reactions  associated with withdrawing from this medication."

"I go to sleep at night, but wake up every 2 hours or so for an hour."

"All my doctors always recommend SSRIs no matter WHAT my problem is. I hate doctors because their answer to everything is SSRI.

I have chronic joint problems. They prescribed Paxil.

I gained 40 lbs. I wanted Xenical for weight loss. They also prescribed Paxil.

I was having flashbacks of childhood, and they told me to take Prozac.

I couldn't sleep on Prozac, so they gave me Wellbutrin (another anti depressant) to allow me to sleep.

I couldn't sleep on Paxil, so they gave me Ativan to sleep.

I couldn't sleep on Paxil the second time, they gave me Valium to sleep.

I hurt my back in an accident. They gave me Paxil again.

What is with this?

The Paxil always makes me feel happy. I don't know if I like that though... to never be sad or mad? It is sort of fake.

Prozac just made me want to do bazaar things. My best friend told me when I was on it in college, I would say "I am invincible" and walk into traffic and say I wouldn't get hurt etc. I would stand on rail road tracks waiting for trains, I took up stripping and witchcraft. It was WEIRD. I am a preschool teacher... so these are not  normal decisions for me."

"PAXIL CAUSED ME TO BLACK OUT/NOT REMEMBER A THING FROM NIGHTS PRIOR. SLEEP WALKING. NAUSEA, DIZZINESS AND NIGHT SWEATS."

"Headaches all the time. paranoid all the time while taking Paxil. sick all the time.... extreme pains in stomach....sleepy all the time.... cant concentrate on much.... off it now, and my nerves are shot... shaking all the time, still sleepy, still cant concentrate.. Constantly looking out the window, because of being paranoid (during and after taking Paxil)... feeling really stressed.... anxiety attacks ALL the time now (never before I took them)... many others, too, but they were listed...."

"Paxil-Suicidal ideation & attempts while withdrawing."

"When drinking alcohol I get extremely drunk from the Paxil and very violent."

"On Paxil for 6 weeks. Pain in upper back and shoulder (right-side). Very heavy and tired feeling. Now I have Tietze's syndrome too, very painful. All I feel in this body is pain, pain, pain.

And when will the 'zaps' leave? And the 40 pound weight gain? THIS IS NOT 'ME'!!!!!!!!!!! I hate this!!"

"63 yr old female.  Stroke 1 yr ago.  Depressed and went on Paxil.  My speech was affected and I have trouble finding the words I wanted to say.  Now I am even worse since taking this drug."

"Taking Paxil for 2 months. I have been clenching my jaw when I am sleeping, and biting the inside of my cheek."

"I have been off Paxil for 3 years and still have severe side effects including vestibular disorders. I feel like the room and I are in constant movement and rocking, have had severe vertigo and muscle twitches fatigue and insomnia. All since the Paxil."

"Paxil: I had pooped my pants and didn't know until I felt squishy down there.(3rd day after use)"

"I have been taking Paxil for over 6months I gained 25 lbs and I am very active and weight lifting I still have night sweats."

"I had an episode that looked like a "seizure" without shaking or loss of bowels like a normal seizure.  I had 2 EEG's and an MRI (both were normal).  I will have to have my license revoked b/c they could not determine what caused it.  It happened 2 1/2 week after I started taking Paxil."

"I started Paxil at the end of August, and stopped taking it at the end of October. I went through hell on it, several major side-effects, and absolutely no positive effects.

It was an unmitigated disaster, and I'd write it off as a mistake and forget
about it, if it wasn't for the fact that I'm still half blind in one eye.

Among other things, Paxil effected the left side of my body. I had pain in
my left knee, and my whole left side was numb, especially my foot, the left
side of my stomach and pelvis, my hand, my index finger, my ear (including
reduced hearing in that ear) and then a sudden loss of vision in my left eye
(I'd say I've lost about half the vision in it, I can't read at all with it now, I had perfect vision till then) and intense eye pain in that eye.

Everything else is pretty much gone now. Well, I still have the Paxil rash,
I'm starting to wonder if that will ever go away (it looks like pin pricks
under my skin), and I'm still experiencing some nausea and vomiting from the withdrawal.

And my eye did improve somewhat, but now it's back to it's worst. I really
wasn't concerned, I thought side effects are just temporary and would all go
away. But I saw a new doctor this week, and she looked it up and found that
Paxil can cause glaucoma. So I saw an optician, and he said that my vision
in my left eye is extremely reduced, but he isn't sure what it is, so he
referred me back to my doctor, so she can refer me on to an eye specialist.

At this point I don't care about anything else, I just want my sight back.
When I started Paxil, I said I had nothing to lose, it didn't occur to me
that I could lose my vision.

I just really need some idea of what's happening to me."

"Paxil caused so many mental changes in my ex-husband that I divorced him.  He began excessive shopping sprees, dating other women, blaming me for money problems, denying his excessive spending.  He also became addicted to sex that he still continues to have multiple partners weekly."

"Since this is a blind testimonial, Only thing I have to say is that I've been on the medication for about 10 days now. My panic attacks are few and far between, but I get very antsy for no apparent reason, the doom gloom thoughts, I'm a very positive person when looking to other alternatives in depression, but I've been freaking out for no apparent reason, I think my heart's going to stop or explode... I just wish I could calm down and not worry about my next episode."

"I was only on 20mg for 3mo. stopped abruptly and now I have occasional spells of vertigo, facial tingling and what feels like stretching and jerking of my face and brain, though there is no visible movement.  It has been three weeks now and it happens 2 to 4 times daily for approx. 2 to 10 minutes."

"I took Paxil for about a year or even more. I now am experiencing some weird feelings of suicide but, I don't go with it I just try to remember that I'm a Mom. The Dr. put me on Paxil because, I was very depressed and always very anxious and also very forgetful so for the longest time I thought that I was going crazy but now that I found that I'm not I will tell my new doctor about my side effects that I'm having."

"Constipation, bloating and weight gain since taking Paxil."

"Slightly weird buzzy feeling; excessive daytime yawning and jaw clenching. Grinding my teeth at night. Dry sinuses. No other noticeable effects except an improvement in my mood."
