When this Web Site was introduced in 1999, there was little data regarding the adverse drug reactions associated with psychotropic medications. The initial focus of this site was to show the other side of the story. As of this date, that is still the focus as well as offering solutions. This site is not about success individuals might have had while using psychotropic medication. Over the years I have received countless e-mails from people stating a psychotropic medication has helped their survival. I do not doubt their stories just as I have not doubted the stories from people that believe psychotropic medications have ruined their life. To answer one question I am asked regularly: I am not out to stop anyone from being able to get psychotropic medication. I am not out to shut down a pharmaceutical company. The intent of this site is to provide information so an individual can make a better decision or an informed decision about psychotropic medications. The intent of this site is also to provide solutions for individuals that need some assistance. Over the years I have received e-mails from individuals stating their drug has helped them etc, and received e-mails for help from the same people months later when they tried to quit their medication and withdrawal side effects were too extreme for them to cope with. Being here when help is needed is also the purpose of this site and the site’s solutions. This site does want to spread truth about psychotropic medications. That in itself means the sword swings both ways. These medications do help some people while harming others. Corporations or individuals can and have lied about the benefit of psychotropic medications. Corporations or individuals can and have lied about the negative aspects of psychotropic medications. If a pharmaceutical can only claim “it is assumed that” their drug is doing a certain thing to help, the anti-drug side can only assume as well that the drug is doing a negative in the same area of the body. My best to you all, Jim Harper
